THE RUNDOWN
Iona led for all but three minutes in the opening 20 minutes and carried a 33-30 advantage into halftime. Saint Peter's trailed by as many as five in the first 10 minutes before rallying to tie the score at 18-18 with 9:41 remaining. After a 6-0 Peacocks run erased a three-point deficit and gave the home side its first lead, the Gaels responded with 12 straight points to build their largest cushion of the night. CJ Anthony with 4:43 left made it 30-21. Saint Peter's closed the half by scoring nine of the final 12 points to pull within three at the break.

The final lead change came quickly after intermission as the Peacocks opened the half with nine straight points and never looked back. The margin reached double digits for the first time with 12:58 to play. Trailing by 14 just under the 10-minute mark, Harris buried three consecutive three-pointers to cut the deficit to 58-50 with 8:36 remaining. Saint Peter's answered with a 7-0 spurt to regain control and put the game away.
IONA PERFORMERS
- Anglin scored 11 of his 15 points in the first half, knocking down four three-pointers while adding three rebounds and three steals.
- Harris poured in 11 of his 14 points after halftime, also connecting on four shots from beyond the arc, and chipped in two rebounds and two assists.
- Graduate Lamin Sabally recorded nine points, a game-high 10 rebounds, four assists and a block.
- Anthony and sophomore Khalil Badru finished with eight points apiece for the Maroon and Gold.
THE OPPONENT
- Saint Peter's balanced attack saw seven players score at least eight points, including six in double figures.
- Zaakir Williamson led the way with 13 points to go along with three rebounds and three blocked shots.
- Lucas Scroggins added 12 points and seven rebounds.
- Brent Bland and Jahki Gupton each scored 11 points and pulled down nine boards.
- TJ Robinson finished with 10 points and five assists, highlighted by an 8-for-10 night at the free throw line.
TEAM STATS
- Saint Peter's shot 45.8 percent for the game compared to 35.7 percent for Iona, aided by a 59.1 percent to 33.3 percent edge after halftime.
- The Gaels knocked down 11 three-pointers but went 9-for-24 inside the arc, while the Peacocks were 6-for-15 from long range.
- Saint Peter's held a 44-31 rebounding advantage and a 10-7 edge on the offensive glass, though Iona owned a 12-9 margin in second-chance points.
- Iona totaled 12 assists with nine turnovers, while Saint Peter's posted 15 assists and 13 giveaways.
