Ellen Robertson joined the Iona College Athletics Department as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in January 2015. Robertson came to New Rochelle after three years at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, NY.
Robertson is responsible for monitoring Iona’s adherence to all NCAA rules and regulations while supervising and educating members of the athletic administration and coaching staff.
Robertson previously served as assistant compliance director at Molloy, where helped oversee compliance for the college’s 16 NCAA Division II programs. She also conducted and participated in weekly meetings regarding new NCAA rules and regulations.
Robertson was also recruiting coordinator for the Lions and co-director of its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She oversaw student-athlete finances, admissions, and all recruiting matters concerning the college’s athletic programs, as well as organizing and managing all aspects for team and official visit travel, administering and monitoring the student-athlete study hall program, and establishing community service engagements department-wide.
During her first few years at Molloy, Robertson was an assistant volleyball coach where she helped the head coach manage and direct the program, encouraged student athletes to maintain high academic standards by monitoring the academic performance of the team, and assisted with recruiting and evaluating of new players.
Robertson graduated from the University of Buffalo in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree of arts and science. She was a member of the Bulls’ volleyball team where she served as a defensive specialist durin during her four-year career Robertson was part of the program’s first-ever appearance in the Mid-American Conference Championship during her senior year as captain.
