Eamonn Mahar enters his first season as graduate manager for the Iona College men's basketball team in 2017-18. Mahar graduated from SUNY Cortland in May 2017 with a degree in communication studies and his currently pursuing a Master's degree from Iona in sports media and communications.
While at Cortland, Mahar spent three years as a manager for the men's basketball team. His duties included filming practices and games as well as assisting with practices, statistics and arranging team itineraries. He also spent nearly four years as the Director of the Cortland Basketball Club, taking the program over from his father.
Mahar comes from a coaching family, as his father, Buddy, was a coach at Columbia, Fordham and Farleigh Dickinson while his brother, Matt, has spent time at Chaminade University and Assumption.
