Iona University Athletics

Kyle Washington enters his second season on Tobin Anderson's staff at Iona and first as an assistant coach in 2024-25.   Washington was hired last season as director of Player Development. He came to New Rochelle after serving on staff at Loyola University Chicago in 2022-23.

A former standout student-athlete at University of Cincinnati, Washington spent one season as video coordinator at Loyola University Chicago under head coach Drew Valentine. He was a graduate assistant at Cincinnati in 2021-22, helping with player development and video. Washington returned to his alma mater following a professional playing career that included time with Yalova in Turkey, the Windy City Bulls and Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA G-League and the Boca Juniors in Argentina.

Washington played his first two college seasons at North Carolina State University under Mark Gottfried and his final two at Cincinnati under Mick Cronin. With the Wolfpack, he reached the NCAA tournament both years with a second round appearance as a rookie and a sweet 16 appearance as a sophomore. As a Bearcat, Washington helped lead his squad to a 61-11 overall record including a school record 31 wins as a senior in 2017-18. Cincinnati reached the second round in the NCAA tournament both seasons. He scored 1,275 career points in 142 games played.

Washington earned his degree from Cincinnati in 2018 in Interdisciplinary Studies.
