AS A SENIOR (2008-09):
Led the team in scoring with a career-high 11.8 points per game and rebounding with 7.0 boards... Started 20 of 24 games he appeared in and tied for the team lead with 16 double-digit point efforts... Also had two double-double vs. Marist on Feb. 7 and at Saint Peter’s on Feb. 27... Ranked No. 2 in the MAAC in field goal percentage at 58.2%... Tallied a career-high 22 points with seen rebounds on 7-for-10 shooting from the field and 8-of-10 shooting from the line in Iona’s season opening win over Hampton on Nov. 14... Finished second on the team in scoring with an 10.9 points per game average.. Had 10 games with 10 or more points and six games with 10 or more rebounds including a season-high 21-point, 16 rebound effort at Niagara on Feb. 16, 2008... One of the strongest players in the MAAC, he ranked fourth in the conference in rebounds... Earned a spot on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s First Team All-Area squad, as well as the Metro Atlanta Prep Team of the Year, as selected by the Atlanta Tip-off Club... As a junior, averaged 10.7 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots... Also lettered in football and track... Son of former Iona All-American Gary Springer, the Gaels’ second all-time leading scorer and third all-time leading rebounder... Committed to Iona in the early signing period.
