Kelly Shaver was named Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Iona College in June 2013. Shaver previously served as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for four years at Fordham University.

At Fordham, Shaver was responsible for the development and supervision of 15 of the school’s 21 athletic programs including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer, Baseball, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country/ Track & Field, Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving, Water Polo, Women’s Tennis, Rowing, and Cheerleading. Shaver also assisted with practice and game-day tasks for men’s basketball and football and collaborated with athletic trainers regarding the rehabilitation of injured student-athletes.

Prior to Fordham, Shaver spent three years in the sports performance private sector in New York City where he coached athletes of all-ages, specifically high school, college, and professionals and served as the strength coach for the 2008 Beijing Olympics Silver Medalist Men’s Saber US Fencing Team.

Shaver is a 2007 magna cum laude graduate of Georgia Southern University earning a bachelor's of science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. He received his master's degree in Sports Management from Georgia Southern in 2013.  As an undergraduate student, he served as a strength and conditioning intern for two years, where he worked with 450 athletes on all 15 Division I varsity teams. More specifically, he was assigned to the women’s cross country and track program and assisted in conducting warm-ups, conditioning sessions, and teaching proper lifting techniques for football, men’s basketball, & baseball.

Shaver is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  The Douglasville, GA native now resides with his wife, EJ, in Peekskill, NY.
