Carter McFarland

Carter McFarland begins his third year as the Director of Operations for both the men's and women's water polo programs.

McFarland assists Head Coach Brian Kelly with day-to-day administrative tasks, planning and coordinating team travel, coordinating parent and alumni relations, as well as filming games and breaking down film with the team.

McFarland was a part of a staff that produced 22 ACWPC All-Academic team members and an ACWPC All-America Honorable Mention in Marc Stauble.

McFarland graduated from Loyola University Maryland in May of 2016, where he swam for the Division-1 program. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications, with a concentration in Advertising/Public Relations and Journalism.

Carter joined the Maroon & Gold with both coaching and sports information experience. In 2012, McFarland was an Athletics Department Intern at Pace University. There, he assisted the Swimming and Diving coach with recruiting and equipment orders, as well as recorded results and statistics for the Assistant Athletic Director.

In 2015, McFarland was hired as a Research Intern at Swimmetrix. He was responsible for tabulating historical World Championships and Olympic medal freestyle performances by distance for men and women. In addition, he helped develop attributes for the ideal swimming performance measurement system through coaches interviews and product reviews.Most recently, McFarland was an Assistant Swim Coach at Covleigh Club in Rye, NY. He instructed and trained children ages 5-17. His duties also included insuring smooth operation of scheduled swim meets by co-coordinating and organizing team activities, meeting lineups, and planning practice sessions.
