Iona College women’s lacrosse head Coach Michelle Mason first announced Alyssa Ferro joining the program as an assistant coach prior to the 2017-18 season. She joined Iona fresh off a campaign with the Baltimore Ride of the United Women’s Lacrosse League where she served as an attacker.
In her first season with the Maroon & Gold, Ferro helped the Gaels return to the MAAC Tournament as the sixth seed. The coaching staff helped tutor four All-MAAC performers, including All-MAAC First Team honoree Gabriella Di Domizio.
Ferro, a 2017 graduate of Towson University, served as a staff member and coach of the Long Island Yellow Jackets Elite Lacrosse Club for the past three seasons. She also worked at recruiting camps including Towson, LaMonica Sports Inc., Lacrosse Recruiting Blitz, Long Island Blue Chip and Maverick Showtime.
“I’m really thankful for the opportunity to become a part of the Iona Women’s Lacrosse program,” says Ferro. “I’m excited to work with both Michelle and Courtney and hope to build on what the program had accomplished this past year and go even farther this upcoming season.”
