Courtney Bertolone

Courtney Bertolone

Bertolone enters her third year as an assistant coach for the Maroon & Gold.

In the 2018 season, Bertolone helped tutor four All-MAAC performers, including All-MAAC First Team defender Gabriella Di Domizio. The Gaels reached the MAAC Tournament for the second time in three years as the No. 6 seed.

In her first season, she was part of a tandem which led to an All-MAAC second-team selection in Gabriella Di Domizio and 16 MAAC All-Academic performers.

Before Iona, Bertolone was at Pace University where she served as an assistant for the Setters’ field hockey and lacrosse programs.  She was part of the inaugural seasons for both teams during the 2015 calendar year.  Following a 5-11 opening season record, the Setters improved to 10-8 in 2016.

Before joining Pace University, Bertolone spent two years in Ascot, England as a physical education teacher and lacrosse coach at St. Georges Boarding School.  Prior to her time across the pond, Bertolone spent one season at Dowling College as a women’s lacrosse assistant coach.

Before becoming a student-athlete playing lacrosse at Stony Brook, Bertolone began her collegiate career at Robert Morris University as a starter on its field hockey program.  Bertolone focused on lacrosse following the move to Stony Brook, acting as a key leader for the program’s Division I women’s lacrosse team, leading and coordinating team activities on and off the field.

During her three years at Stony Brook, she played in 45 games, scoring 35 goals, recording 10 assists and gathering 63 groundballs.

Bertolone graduated from Stony Brook in 2011 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Sociology.
