Leah Marshall enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Iona University women’s lacrosse program in 2025–26 after joining the staff ahead of the 2024–25 campaign. A former four-year standout for the Gaels from 2018–19 through 2021–22, Marshall returned to her alma mater following a decorated collegiate career.
As a freshman with the Iona Gaels, Marshall earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors after leading the team in scoring with 24 goals and 28 points. She recorded four hat tricks, nine multi-goal performances, and scored in all but two games, while also contributing 20 draw controls, 19 ground balls, and nine caused turnovers.
As a senior in 2021–22, she was named to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll. Marshall started eight games before injury, totaling 20 goals with seven multi-goal games. She scored a season-high four goals against Lafayette Leopards (March 5) and controlled 40 draws, including a season-best 10 against Columbia Lions (March 15). She also added 17 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, showcasing her all-around impact.
In her first year on staff (2024–25), Marshall helped guide the Gaels to their third postseason berth since 2016. Iona hosted Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers in the opening round and went on to make program history. The Gaels earned their first-ever home postseason victory with a win over Rider Broncs, then continued their run with a thrilling 11–10 victory over top-seeded Mount St. Mary’s to clinch the program’s first berth in the MAAC Championship game. Iona’s historic season concluded with a 12–7 setback to Fairfield Stags in the title contest.
Marshall continues to play an integral role in player development, recruiting, scouting, and game preparation as the Gaels build on one of the most successful seasons in program history.
