Rocco is a graduate of the University of Vermont, where he graduated with a Bachelors in Economics in 2004.
Immediately after graduation, Rocco was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. He retired at the rank of Major in 2019. Rocco’s military career includes a Masters of International Relations from the University of Oklahoma, a Masters of Leadership from Marshall University, as well as diplomas from the Expeditionary Warfare School and Command and Staff College. While in the service, Rocco deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Arctic Circle. Throughout his career, he was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal, three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, the Arctic Service Ribbon, and the Drill-Instructor Ribbon.
During his time in the Marine Corps, Rocco helped rejuvenate the Marine Corps lacrosse teams in North Carolina and California.
His coaching experience extends back to 2008 when Rocco assisted in starting the Dana Hills High School Boys & Girls Varsity Lacrosse programs. During his time in California, he served as Co-Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. In only their second year as a program, the boy’s team was ranked in the Top 10 in Southern CIF and made a run to the semifinals of the CIF Championship Tournament.
