Anna Wyluda comes to Iona as a freshman rower for the 2014-15 season. Before Iona, she attended Southington High School of Southington, CT where she played lacrosse. Wyluda was has two siblings, Urszula, 26 and Alexandra, 17 and resides in Southington CT.
Wyluda aspires to be a successful Speech Language Pathologist in both the medical and educational aspects and plans to work on a master’s and PhD after college. She says she chose Iona because of its “amazing speech language pathology program.” Upon touring the Iona’s campus and visiting the Hynes Athletic Center’s tank room is, she claims, “when I made my decision that this is one extracurricular I am going to become involved in.”
Her biggest accomplishment thus far is attending Iona and making the Dean’s list for her first semester as a student. Since enrolling, Anna worked with the Iona in Mission program, which offers short-term domestic and international immersion experiences to the students, alumni, staff, and faculty of Iona College. For the program Anna has been volunteer of churches, nursing homes, and of Project Sunshine Children’s hospital in February 2015, and will participate in the NYC Midnight run in April 2015, and the Philadelphia soup kitchen in May 2015.
