Iona University Athletics

Colleen Ryan enters her first season as Assistant Coach for the Iona College Rowing program.  While a student at Iona, Colleen was a four-year member of the women's varsity team, and was named team captain in her junior and senior years.  Ryan was the recipient of the team's Student Athlete of the Year award in 2006, 2008, and 2009.  She was also a member of S.A.A.C. from 2006-2009.

While competing at Iona, Colleen helped lead the Women's Varsity 4+ to three consecutive first place finishes at the New York State Collegiate Rowing Championships.  Ryan continued rowing at the New York Athletic Club in Pelham, NY during the summers of 2008 and 2009.  She earned a bronze medal at the 2008 Elite Nationals and two bronze medals at the 2009 US Rowing Club National Championships.

Hailing from Orange County, NY, Ryan earned a B.S. in Childhood Education from Iona in 2009.
