Jonas Worth

Jonas Worth

Jonas Worth joins the Iona coaching staff with over ten years of collegiate and semi-pro coaching experience. Most recently, he was an assistant with the Laval Comets of the USL W-League, finishing first in the Northeastern Conference in 2015. He was previously a college assistant or head coach north of the border at several CIS schools including the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) and Concordia University (Montreal), in addition to the W-League franchise in Quebec City.

Worth played goalkeeper semi-professionally and has received his international coaching education from countries such as Brazil, Germany and the UK. He completed his UEFA B license in 2007 with the English FA and NSCAA Premier Diploma in 2008 before finishing a master’s in sport psychology at UBC in 2010. He specializes in mental training for team sport athletes and has lectured/mentored students in the area previously.

Prior to the closing of his playing career, Worth graduated with a bachelor’s in Humanistic Studies and Hispanic Languages from McGill University in Montreal and is as passionate about foreign languages as he is for the game of soccer. The native New Yorker also had a brief stint as a journalist at Major League Soccer and is very proud to have worked with athletes such as Tim Howard and Mike Petke.
