Iona College volleyball head coach Esai Velez-Perez has announced the Caylie Denham will be an addition to his coaching staff as a graduate assistant. Denham joins the Maroon & Gold after four strong years with Hofstra University.
“Caylie Denham brings all the energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. Her perseverance, determination, and hard work is what will help this program to get better.” Velez-Perez continues, “I’m lucky to meet Caylie and her family, and I will be more than welcome to have her on the Iona Volleyball family’”.
Denham was libero/defensive specialist for the Pride and part of the 2018 Colonial Athletic Conference championship team that won 25 matches. She finished her career with 101 matches and 302 sets played. As a junior in 2017, Denham registered career-bests with 388 digs, 3.26 digs per set, 25 points and 25 service aces. Her digs per set average ranked ninth in the CAA that season.

In the classroom, Denham was a four-time CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recipient. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. Denham has had internships as an athletic training student with various athletic programs, including Hofstra’s lacrosse, basketball and wrestling programs. She has also worked with Nassau Community College’s football team and Hofstra’s Northwell Health Physical Therapy Observation.
