Connor MacPhail joined the Iona University volleyball coaching staff in the spring semester of 2023. MacPhail came to New Rochelle after serving as an assistant coach at Adelphi University during the 2022 season, where he led efforts in film analysis and skill development.
In his first season with the Gaels, the program won 15 games and advanced to the MAAC Championship semifinal round following a five-set upset of Marist in the opening round. He coached All-MAAC first team performer Hope Matschner, second teamer Mackenzie Wiggins and all-rookie Ezzie Thompson during the 2023 campaign. Matschner was tabbed the MAAC's Libero of the Year while Wiggins also earned All-Tournament Team honors.
Currently involved in Long Island volleyball, MacPhail is a head coach at the club level, coaching Sportime VBC and at Unlimited Sports.
As a four-year member of the New Paltz men's volleyball program, MacPhail played in over 65 sets and was a member of the teams' 2019 Division III Championship run. The Port Washington, New York, native earned his degree in digital media & management with minor in communications at SUNY New Paltz in May 2022.
