Jon Killingbeck

Jon Killingbeck was named the sixth volleyball head coach in program history in August 2011. He came to New Rochelle after spending the 2011 spring season at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington.

In 2013, his third season with the Gaels, Killingbeck led Iona to 16 victories, including a program record 13 wins in MAAC play. The total surpassed the previous mark of 12 from the 2010 campaign. Iona advanced to the MAAC Championship semifinal while senior Alicja Pawelec, junior Catrina Warren and sophomore Natalie Ziskin earned All-MAAC honors. The Maroon & Gold also posted a stellar 9-1 mark at the Hynes Athletics Center.

In his first season with Iona, Killingbeck secured an 8-2 mark at home and led the Gaels to seven victories in conference action. The Gaels were awarded with two All-MAAC selections following the season.

Killingbeck spent the 2011 spring semester at Columbia Basin College. Prior to accepting the head coaching position at CBC, Killingbeck spent one season as an assistant coach at Arizona Western College in Yuma (AWC), Arizona. He was responsible for assisting in all aspects of the program including recruiting, film editing, strength and conditioning and practice and game planning. Killingbeck joined the AWC staff after working as the lead assistant coach at Division III Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA where he assisted with recruiting efforts, film study, strength training, and practice organization.

Before his stint at Whitman, Killingbeck served as an assistant coach and director of volleyball operations at Seattle University where he assisted with recruiting, scouting, and video editing. While at SU, Killingbeck earned a master's degree in sports administration and leadership, graduating with honors in the summer of 2009.

Killingbeck began his coaching career while earning a Bachelor of Science in geology from Central Washington University (CWU). He served as a volunteer assistant coach for two seasons, helping with practice, winter and spring workouts, and video editing. While he was at CWU, the Wildcats reached the NCAA playoffs both seasons.

Killingbeck spent four years gaining additional experience as head coach of four different club organizations on teams ranging from ages 15 through club teams at Seattle University.
