Following a stellar career as one of the most decorated players in Iona College women's water polo history, Maggie Wood joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2012.

At the time of her graduation, Wood was Iona's all-time leader in points and is still Iona's all-time leader in goals and exclusions drawn. She is top five in assists, steals and points per game.

In 2010, she became Iona's first 100 goal scorer when she led the nation with 119 tallies, helping Iona secure the MAAC Championship and its first NCAA Championship berth that season. That season Wood was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year and was an ACWPC Honorable Mention All American.

Over her four seasons, Wood earned four All-MAAC honors and was a three- time MAAC All-Academic Team selection. She was also named the 2008 MAAC Rookie of the Year after tallying 70 goals in her rookie season.

A native of Evergreen Park, IL, Wood graduated with a degree in Mass Communications.
