Mordi joined Iona from Fairleigh Dickinson after coaching under Szumilo since the 2021-22 season. He served as the director of player development, as well as assistant coach while with the Knights.
FDU was Mordi's second collegiate stop and first taste of Division I. Previously, Mordi spent time at Kean University as a special assistant, editing film for practice analysis and working with the forwards, including the 2010-11 National Player of the Year Jonathan Jones. Mordi then moved on to become the associate head coach at Christ the King High School from 2015-17, focusing on skill development, film breakdown and scouting. Before transitioning to the Division I level, Mordi coached 17U Elite and 16U EYBL teams for the NYC Exodus program.
Mordi graduated from William Patterson University of New Jersey in 2012, earning a bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies.
