Iona alum Mike Tierney is in his second year as an assistant with the Gaels. Tierney played major minutes in starting and reserve roles throughout his career in New Rochelle. His best year came as a senior as he contributed to the 2001 nationally ranked Iona water polo team. Tierney is currently a member of the national champion New York Athletic Club team.

Tierney resides in White Plains, NY.
