Alex Williams

Alex Williams begins his first season as the water polo assistant Coach. He coached at Torrey Pines High School from 2013-2018, where he served as head coach for the TPHS girls' water polo program since 2014, and as assistant coach for the boys' program in 2013, 2014, and 2017. He was the head coach of the boys team for the 2018 season. In 2018, he lead the Torrey Pines girls program to its first Open Division appearance. In addition, Williams coached for the San Diego Shores water polo club from 2016-2018. In 2017, he guided the Shores girls 18U “B” team to a silver medal in the gold division at the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics. Williams first started coaching in 2009, as an assistant to the women’s club team at his alma mater, the University of Arizona. He became their head coach in 2010.
 
Prior to his coaching career, Williams played four years of water polo at Torrey Pines High School, a member of the 2004 and 2005 CIF Division I runner-up teams. He played club at the University of Arizona, and served as President of the club from 2009 - 2010. He was named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Southwest Conference 1st team in 2009 and 2010. He was also an honorable mention for the 2009 CWPA All-American team. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Accounting from the U of A in 2011.
