Jersey City, NJ - The Iona College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision against Saint Peter's College this afternoon. The Gaels are now 4-5-4 overall with a 1-2-1 MAAC record. The win was the Peacocks' fourth straight MAAC victory.

The Maroon & Gold faced a tough contest, not finding many opportunities to set off a shot. The only Gaels to attempt a shot were Felipe Faundez with 2, joined by Edwin Montes and Pasquale Abiuso with one each. At game's end, Iona trailed 16-6 in the category.

Saint Peter's scoring run began in the 27th minute when Juan Gaviria found the back of the net off a pass from teammate Kevin Hudson. Murphey Wiredu added two more to the scoreboard for the Peacocks in the second half, scoring twice within a six minute stretch. Gael goalie Nils Binstock made five saves between the posts, while allowing the three goals.

The Gaels will look to turn things around on Sunday as they face Manhattan College on the road. Game time is set for 10:00 am.
