West Point, NY - With a solid 3-1 win against Army, the Iona College men's soccer team improved their record to 2-2-1.
Maciek Sliwinksi pulled double duty, scoring two unassisted goals in the second half.
Felipe Faundez scored his first goal of the season in the 87th minute to put the lid on the game and wrap up the win for the Gaels.
Nicholas Smaldone picked up the assist.
An early Army goal by Chase Hunter would be the only advantage the military academy would see. At game's end Iona led West Point in total shots (16-12), corner kicks (9-6), and goalkeeper saves (6-4). Gael goalie Nils Binstock played all 90 minutes in net.
Iona will play next at Albany on Sep. 13.
