NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) -- Iona remained winless, falling to Canisius 71-61 on Monday night.

The Gaels (0-21, 0-11 Metro Atlantic) had a 10-point lead in the first half, but couldn't stop Darnell Wilson, who scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Golden Griffins (11-10, 6-5).

Alejo Rodriguez had 19 points and 13 rebounds and Mike Harris added 19 points for the Gaels, the only winless team in Division I. The loss was Iona's 22nd straight over two seasons and set a school mark for the most defeats in a single season, eclipsing the team's 7-20 record in 1993-94.

The Gaels led 13-3 early in the game, but Canisius closed the first half with an 8-0 run, including two 3-pointer by Harris, to trail 32-31 at the break.

It was only the third time this season Iona has led at halftime.

Chuck Harris and Shaun James added 15 points each and Frank Turner had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Griffins, who won their fifth in a row.

The Griffs gained their first lead of the game at 44-42 when Wilson scored with 13:50 remaining.

Iona's Devon Clarke followed with a basket to achieve the last tie score at 44.

Turner scored with 4:43 left to cap a 20-7 run that pushed Canisius to a 64-51 lead.

The Griffs shot 47.3 percent from the floor to 36.7 percent for the Gaels.
