Box Score Princeton, NJ- Senior Dexter Gray netted 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds and sophomore Milan Prodanovic added 16 points but it was not enough for the Iona College men's basketball team to overcome Princeton, 66-58, at Jadwin Gymnasium. The Gaels (0-2) came within one point of erasing a 13-point first half deficit in the contest.

The Tigers (2-0) came out firing in the first half with the assistance of Kyle Koncz, torrid shooting. Koncz drained four of his first six three point attempts to give his squad an early 13-8 lead with 12 minutes to play. Zach Finley extended the lead to 13 points with 17 seconds to play on a layup.

Starting with two Prodonovic free throws with three seconds to go in the first half and ending with a Gray layup a little over two minutes into the second, the Gaels went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to five points at 35-30. The two teams traded buckets over the next eight minutes. After Princeton led 43-34 at 14:53, the Gaels went on a 14-6 run to cut the margin to a single point with 9:21 to play. John Kelly's turnaround hook shot made the score 49-48.

The Tigers scored the game's next five points as Iona was unable to get closer than four points the rest of the way.

Gray shot 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-6 from the foul line to account for his 18 points. Prodanovic was a productive 4-of-8 from the field and drained his first seven free throws (7-of-8 for the game) in the loss. The Gaels out rebounded Princeton 33-32.

The Tigers' Lincoln Gunn scored a game-high 20 points and added six rebounds and six assist. Koncz scored 13 of his 15 points in the first half. Princeton made 10-of-29 three point attempts while the Maroon & Gold hit one of 10 attempts.

The Gaels continue a seven-game road trip in Chapel Hill, NC on Sunday afternoon in the first of four games in the Findlay Toyota Las Vegas Invitational. Iona takes on the UNC Tar Heels at 6:00 pm on a game that will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
