West Long Branch, NJ- Junior forward Aly Lo scored two goals in the first half to lift the Iona College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Monmouth in non-conference action on The Great Lawn. The Gaels (3-5) snapped the Hawks 13-game unbeaten streak at home with the win.
Junior co-captain Bryan Oelkers assisted on Lo's first goal, in the 11th minute as the Gaels took a 1-0 lead. The junior striker tallied his third goal of the year in the 41st minute. It was Lo's first collegiate multi-goal effort.
Monmouth pulled within a goal at 77th minute on Tom Gray's goal.
The Hawks held a 16-7 advantage in shots. Binstock made five saves in net for Iona to improve his record on the year to 3-5.
The Gaels are back in action on the road at Drexel before opening up MAAC play at home vs. Saint Peter's in two weeks.
