BROOKLYN, NY - Anda Ivkovic led three Gaels in double figures as the Iona College women's basketball team earned its fourth win of the season with a 67-49 victory against St. Francis (NY). After falling behind 2-0 to start things off, Iona took over with a one point lead on a three pointer by Ivkovic at the 19:17 mark and never trailed beyond that point.
Ivkovic had five field goals and made 5-of-7 from the line to lead the squad with 16 points. Kristina Ford recorded her second career double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds while blocking three shots, and Thazina Cook added 13 points for the Maroon & Gold.
The Terriers' Kara Ayers led all players with 19 points, followed by Kendra Williams with 12.
The Gaels held a 38-33 advantage on the boards and led 18-8 in assists, topped by six from Suzi Fregosi.
Iona returns to action in New Rochelle, playing two games in the upcoming Iona Thanksgiving Classic. Following a 2:30 pm contest between UMBC and Western Michigan on Nov. 29, the Gaels will face Maryland-Eastern Shore at 5:00 pm. The men's team closes out the triple header with a game against Robert Morris.
