BINGHAMTON TOPS IONA, 3-0

Binghamton, NY - The Bearcats scored twice in the first half en route to a 3-0 win over the Iona College women's soccer team this evening.  The two teams squared off in front of a crowd of 356 with Bingamton picking up its third straight victory.

Dani Raske logged a hat trick, scoring all three goals for the host squad.  She started with a pair of goals in the first half, finding the back of the net 13 minutes apart on assists from Amanda Casares and Stefani Knopick.  The trio was topped off in the second period when Raske lodged a pass into the left side of the net just under three minutes into the half.

Iona threatened to score late in the game when a shot by Alison Moroni was saved by Binghamton keeper Jen McEachron.  Senior netminder Suzanne Baldissard had a season best eleven saves in the match.

The Gaels continue with the third of five straight on the road when they face Monmouth on Sunday (Sep. 14).
