FLUSHING MEADOW, NY - The Iona College men's water polo team picked up a non-league victory over Queens College Wednesday evening by the score of 14-12. The game was tied 3-3 after one quarter, but the Gaels outscored the Knights 5-2 in the second quarter and never looked back.
Senior Joe Przekota led the Gaels with six goals, one assist and one steal while junior Seth Tasman had four goals and four assists. Sophomore Cameron Hudson had three goals, senior Emre Erdogan had a goal and three steals and sophomore Matt Joslyn dished out two assists. Junior Eric Konzem had eight saves in three quarters, while senior Erik Lilly had four saves in one quarter in net.
The Gaels compete for the Northern Division regular season title next Wednesday when they visit Fordham. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
