HANOVER, NH - The Iona College men's soccer team was held scoreless in a 2-0 loss to Rhode Island, ending the squad's run of consecutive games without being shut out at 21.  The result also ended a three-game winning streak, moving Iona's overall record to 3-1.
Most of the first half went by without a goal from either side, until the Rams' Jamie Eckmayer scored on a shot from the top left corner of the box with 1:15 to go in the period.  Rhode Island added a second tally in the 68th minute, this time off the foot of Jonathan Pereira.

Nils Binstock made one save and came away with his first loss of the season.
Iona faces Connecticut on Sep. 13 in its second of two games at the Nike Hypertherm Classic, hosted by Dartmouth.
