The Iona College men's water polo team defeated Queens College by a score of 14-13 Wednesday evening in front of a packed house at the Hynes Athletic Center Pool. A goal by junior
Seth Tasman with two minutes left in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference for the Gaels.
Tasman had three goals all together for the Gaels, who upped their record to 2-5 on the year. Senior
Joe Przekota had four goals and a steal while junior
Andrew Velasquez had a season high goals. Freshman
Kristian Bocage netted two crucial second half tallies for the Gaels in his first career home contest. Senior

Matt Joslyn had a goal apiece. Erdogan got in the way of a Knights shot in the closing seconds to seal the Iona victory. Sophomore
Cameron Hudson was four-for-four on swimoffs to help the Gaels ignite their offense all evening long.
Junior
Eric Konzem had 11 saves for the Gaels, as well as two game-saving steals in the second half.
The Gaels travel to the west coast this weekend to compete in the Lancer Invitational hosted by Cal Baptist. Iona's first contest will be Friday afternoon against Chapman. Start time is scheduled for 4:15 pm.
