Iona jumped out to a 1-0 lead with Deignan's first tally of the night in the 9th minute. The Maroon & Gold played the ball through the midfield and Deignan dropped it to the left of Marist goalkeeper Jamie Balzarini. D'Aprile and senior MF

The squad extended its lead to two early on in the second half. In the 49th minute, senior D
Diane Hare served the ball to the endline, from where Deignan once again sent it into the back of the net. D'Aprile provided Iona with extra padding in the 60th minute when she dribbled around Balzarini and put the ball into an empty net to close out the scoring.
Deignan and D'Aprile recorded five shots each, with the Gaels totaling 16 attempts in the match. Freshman GK
Trista Rivera earned her fourth career shutout making a season-high 12 saves.
Iona closes out the regular season at Siena on Sunday. The Gaels will take on the Saints at 1:00 pm.
