JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Iona College women's basketball team was defeated by Saint Peter's, 56-47, in MAAC action on the road. The Gaels now stand at 5-12 overall with a 1-4 mark in conference play while the Peahens picked up their second win of the year (2-14, 2-3 MAAC).
Diana Hubbard led Iona with 13 points in the loss, shooting 4-7 from the floor and 3-5 from three point range.
Kristina Ford and
Milica Paligoric both added eight points, five rebounds, and a block with Ford also claiming two steals. Hubbard,
Anda Ivkovic, and
Marissa Flagg grabbed eight boards each as Iona led 40-34 off the glass.
For Saint Peter's, Jynae Judson led all players with 20 points, followed by 12 from Aziza May.
Next on the schedule for Iona is a 2:00 pm tilt at Loyola on Sunday, Jan. 16.
