NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The Iona College men's swimming and diving team picked up a conference win in its final MAAC tuneup. The Gaels picked up 10 event wins en route to a 141-96 win over Fairfield Saturday afternoon at the Hynes Center Pool.
Justin Grigull took first in the 200 yd freestyle with a time of 1:45.70. Porrazzo was second in the event with a time of 1:49.01 while Wallace was fourth with a time of 1:53.54.
In the 50 yd freestyle,
Seth Tasman was first in the event with a time of 22.16, just .09 ahead of the top Fairfield finisher.
Cameron Hudson was third with a time of 22.37 with Weir coming in sixth with a time of 23.03.
In the 200 yard IM,
Chris Yacobacci was first in the event with a time of 1:59.09.
Ryan Bacci was third in the event with a time of 2:05.89 with Stelnicki in sixth with a time of 2:08.30.
Kotonias added another victory with a first place finish in the 200 yd butterfly with a time of 2:03.77.
Patrick O'Reilly was fourth in the event with a time of 2:05.76.
Jay Wegimont was just behind in fifth with a time of 2:08.88.
Hudson was second in the 100 yd freestyle with a time of 49.40 with Weir in third with a time of 49.77. Tasman was fourth with a time of 50.53.
Porrazzo took first in the 200 yd backstroke with a time of 2:01.42 with Wallace just behind in second with a time of 2:01.76. Wu was sixth in the event with a time of 2:11.90.
The Gaels took the top two spots in the 500 yd freestyle with Grigull taking first in the event with a time of 4:50.96 and De Leone second in the event with 4.58.75.
Raymond Joyal was fifth with a time of 5:14.37.
Yacobacci took first in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:10.51. Giovine was third in the event with a time of 2:13.11 with Bacci coming in sixth with a time of 2:28.19.
In the 400 yd freestyle relay, the relay of De Leone, Grigull, Hudson and Tasman took first with a time of 3:15.93.
The Gaels return to the water Monday when they host the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 6:00 pm.
