Women's Soccer Stumbles at Saint Peter's

JERSEY CITY, NJ - Two weather related delays lasting nearly an hour marked Iona College women's soccer's 2-0 defeat at Saint Peter's in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.

About four minutes in, two separate lightning delays halted play. When it resumed, Saint Peter's got on the board in the 19th minute on an Amanda Feldstein unassisted tally. The Peahens put another goal on the board late in the first half as Courtney Sundstrom headed a free kick past Iona netminder Trista Rivera with 36 seconds to play.

Iona put four shots on net in the second half but was unable to get on the scoreboard. The Gaels held a 9-5 shots advantage and 4-3 on goal in the loss.

The Maroon & Gold returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Manhattan College in Riverdale.
