Katie Higgins headed in a corner kick for the golden goal as the Gaels topped the Greyhounds by the final of 1-0.
After an out of bounds resulted in a corner kick opportunity, freshman
Safi Ayinde set the game winner up with a corner that Higgins put past the Loyola netminder for her first career tally.
Higgins led the Gaels with three shots in the contest, while sophomores
Leanne Benson and
Nicole Paulucci and freshman
Melissa Frederick each registered two shots.
The Greyhounds led in shots 14-13, with each team firing two shots each in overtime. Sophomore
Trista Rivera picked up her third shutout of the year, recording five saves in the contest. Loyola goalkeeper Chantal Celestin made four saves in the game.
The Gaels, now 4-2-1 in conference play, travel to Western New York next weekend to wrap up the regular season, beginning Friday with a 7:30 pm matchup with Niagara.
