NEW ROCHELLE, NY - After an impressive 2010 competitive season that saw the Gaels make their first trip to the MAAC Championship final, the Iona College men's soccer team has begun its slate of Spring exhibition games.

The squad headed to New Rochelle's City Park on March 27 to kick off the spring season against Monroe College, winning the matchup by a 3-1 decision.  The Gaels were lifted to the victory with goals by Samuel Adjei, Mario Di Miceli, and Kester Guischard.

Adjei, who led the Maroon & Gold with five goals in his first season, added a second spring tally against Fairleigh Dickinson in the first of two home contests on April 2.  Adjei's marker was the only one of the early match for Iona, as the team went on to tie the Knights 1-1.  The Gaels then faced off against Marist, once again ending in a 1-1 stalemate with a goal by Di Miceli.

Iona continues its spring schedule on April 9, hosting Long Island at 9:30 am and Lafayette at 11:30 am.
