POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Iona College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to MAAC leader Marist on Sunday afternoon. 

Marist scored the lone tally in the 23rd minute from Amanda Epstein as an Iona defense accidently deflected the ball into the goal. 

Sophomore F Melissa Frederick was credited with the only shot on goal for Iona in the third minute of play. 

Marist finished the contest with a 17-5 edge in shots and junior GK Trista Rivera made eight saves in the defeat. 

With the loss, Iona falls to 5-7-3 overall and 3-2-1 in MAAC play.  The Gaels will conclude the 2012 season with three home games beginning next weekend with a Saturday afternoon meeting with Fairfield as part of Homecoming Weekend at noon.
