BALTIMORE, MD - The Iona College women's soccer dropped a 4-0 decision to Loyola on Friday evening at Ridley Athletic Complex.
The Greyhounds scored a pair of goals in each half as junior netminder Trista Rivera made one save. The hosts scored two minutes into the contest on a goal from Gigi Mangione with an assist from Nichole Schiro off a shot from the top right box.
Kelsey Donohue added the second tally for Loyola off a through ball from Nichole Schiro and Julia Hajjar in the 40th minute. Loyola finished the half with a 6-3 edge in shots.
Two minutes into the second half, Lauren Norica scored off a free kick from 30 yards away to give Loyola a 3-0 lead. Chantal Celestin scored the final goal in the 89th on a shot from outside the box.
Both sides finished with four shots each in the final period. Loyola netminder Didi Haracic made three saves in the victory. Iona junior Chelsea Cabarcas, sophomore Melissa Frederick and freshman Amanda Cantos all registered shots for Iona.
Iona will head to Rider for a Sunday afternoon meeting with the Broncs at 3 p.m.
