JERSEY CITY, NJ - Iona College men's soccer senior midfielder Franklin Castellanos netted the game winner in the 35th minute as the Gaels picked up a 1-0 victory over Saint Peter's Wednesday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Jaroschak Field.

Late in the first half, Castellanos long a long ball in the box, passed his defender and then beat the keeper for his sixth goal of the season.

Overall, Iona was outshot 8-4. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Julian Petrello turned away four shots for his second consecutive shutout. Saint Peter's keeper David Giddings had two saves.

The Gaels are back in action Saturday evening at Canisius. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
