EMMITSBURG, MD - Senior Nicole Paulucci put the Iona College women's soccer team on the scoreboard in the 36th minute to knot the score at 1-1 in a double overtime tie at Mount St. Mary's tonight.
The Mount struck first in the 34th minute as Jackie Corley took a pass from teammate Ragan Cote and chipped the ball over senior keeper Trista Rivera to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
Two and a half minutes later Paulucci scored her second goal of the season, off a feed from junior Safi Ayinde. She settled a cross and beat Rachel Bourne in the lower right corner at the 35:54 mark.
Mount St. Mary's had a slight 14-12 shot advantage. Rivera had six saves in the tie.
The Gaels are back in action Sunday at Navy at 1:00 pm.
