WEST LONG BRANCH, NY - The Iona College men's and women's swimming & diving team went on the road for the first time this season and put up a pair wins over MAAC rival Monmouth in West Long Branch, NJ.
The men's squad increased their season record to 5-1 with a 154-108 win over the Hawks. The Iona women posted a 170-92 win to raise their mark to 6-2 on the season.
The Iona men split the 200 Medley and Free Relays with the Hawks. Monmouth edged the Gaels in the leadoff event; however, the quartet of sophomore

Spencer Moran rebounded for Iona and touched 1.6 ahead to seal the win.
Freshmen
Jalen Ramjohn continued his strong swimming with three wins in three races. He earned first place 100-Breaststroke at 1:01.35; the 100-Butterfly at 51.92 and the 100-Individual Medley at 54.24. Co-Captain's junior Matthew Anderson and senior
Matthew Bosse each posted wins. Anderson took the win in the 1000-Free at 10:02.20 and Bosse the 100-Back at 53.68.
Other men winning events included rookie
Jackson Madonia in the 200-Breasstroke at 2;12.19; Moran in the 200-Backstroke at 1:57.11 and junior
James Whaley in the 200-Butterfly at 1:56.72.
On the women's side, junior
Alyssa Chain, sophomore
Willow Lopez-Silvers, freshman
Samantha Whitney and sophomore
Kate Flynn took first place in the 200-yard freestyle.
Lopez-Silvers also took home first place in the 100-Back at 1:00.51 and 500-Free at 5:21.67. Co-Captain senior
Jessica Schmidt, racing for the last time in her home state of New Jersey, won both the 100-Free at 54.97 and the 100-IM Medley at 1:02.90.

Maria DiBella took the 200-Free 2:00.62. Flynn won the 50-Free at 24.63. Sophomore
Isabelle Pabon took the 200-Butterfly at a season-best 2:13.59 and freshmen Isabelle Minnis earned her first career win, taking the 1000-Free at 11:08.88.
The Gaels close out the semester on Friday, Nov.30 – Saturday, Dec 1 at the H2Ounds Invitational. Hosted by Loyola University, Iona will match up against the Greyhounds, Marist Red, Mount St. Mary's and Saint Peter's.
