TOLEDO, OH – The Iona College women team dropped it's third straight contest to the Toledo Rockets 84-38 Thursday morning at the Savage Arena.

Iona (0-3) could not establish a steady offensive presence in the contest, shooting just 27.8% and scoring just one basket in the second quarter. Junior
Morgan Rachu led Iona with 11 points on 3-12 shooting and added three rebounds.
Gabrielle Joseph shot a perfect 4-4 from the field with five boards.
GAME SUMMARYÂ
The Maroon & Gold held strong in the first quarter, scoring 13 points on 5-14 shooting and committed just one turnover. The Rockets connected on 44% of their attempts.
Jodi-Marie Ramil's basket with 1:46 remaining in the frame was the last points the Gaels scored before Rachu's layup with 32 ticks left in the half.

In the second quarter, Iona shot 1-11 from the field and committed eight turnovers. Toledo outscored the Gaels 16-2 in the frame, shooting 40% from the field including 2-5 from beyond the arc.

The Rockets continued to be an offensive force in the third quarter, outscoring the Maroon & Gold 23-8 and connecting on 10-17 attempts with 14 coming from the bench.

Gabrielle Joseph made all four of her field goals in the fourth quarter but the rest of the team shot only 2-16. The Rockets benched outscored the Gaels 25-8 in the frame.
NOTEABLE NUGGETS
- Morgan Rachu led the squad for the third consecutive contest, totaling 11 points on 3-12 shooting.
- The Rockets shot 56% for the game, with the Gaels finishing 28%.
- The Maroon & Gold were out-rebounded 45-27 for the contest and conceded 17 points off turnovers.
- The Rockets dominated in the paint, outscoring the Gaels 48-20.
- Freshman Gabrielle Joseph totaled her first baskets of her career, connecting on all four of her attempts.
