NORFOLK, VA - The Iona College baseball program dropped game two of the series on Saturday afternoon to Old Dominion by a final score of 24-0 at Bud Metheny Stadium in Norfolk Virginia.
GAME SUMMARY
After Iona went down in order their first time up, ODU plated four runs in the bottom of the first inning and they wouldn't relinquish the lead.Â
Still trailing, Iona had chances in both the third and fourth inning to get on the board with runners in scoring position. After consecutive singles from grad-student

Jake Field Iona had runners on first and second, but ODU's starter Nick Pantos was able to get out of the inning with a strikeout in the third.Â
In the fourth inning, after a leadoff single from junior
Nick Forney to center field and a walk drawn by junior
Jim Pasquale the Gaels were threatening but Pantos was able to get out of the jam again in his last inning of work.
Old Dominion added insurance runs, extending their lead to 9-0 through six innings and the game would get away from the Gaels in the 7th and 8th inning as ODU scored seven runs in the seventh, and eight more in the eighth to win by a final score of 24-0.

Blake Helmstetter and junior reliever
Loncey Conyers combined for nine strikeouts and at the plate, Foley recorded two hits and Field for the fifth time in his Maroon & Gold career recorded three hits or better.Â
