Ehab El-Sandali Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Indoor Track Championship

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Iona College men's indoor track graduate student Ehab El-Sandali completed the 2021-22 indoor campaign with a 13th place finish in the NCAA Championship 5,000-meter event at the Birmingham Crossplex. El-Sandali earned All-America honors with his time of 13:45.40.

Northern Arizona sophomore Abdihamid Nur won the event with a NCAA Championship record time of 13:19.01.

El-Sandali was the lone MAAC competitor at the NCAA Championship. He completed a stellar indoor collegiate campaign with numerous accolades: All-America honors at the NCAA meet, Most Outstanding Performer at the MAAC Championships, and Iona record in the 3,000-meter event in February and the second fastest indoor 5k time in school history.

While his collegiate indoor career has come to a close, El-Sandali will compete next weekend at the World Athletics Indoor Championships, representing Team Canada in the 3,000-meter event.
