Quinnipiac Tops Iona WSOC, 2-0

HAMDEN, CT - The Iona University women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Quinnipiac in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Quinnipiac Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium. The Bobcats scored a goal in each half in defeat of the Gaels.
 
Lily Schnieders scored the first goal for the home team in the eighth minute. Emely van der Vliet added an insurance tally in the 77th minute.
 
Quinnipiac held a 17-5 shots advantage. Senior Samantha Hogan led the Gaels with two attempts.
 
Iona freshman goalkeeper Savannah Rogers posted 10 saves while her counterpart Sofia Lospinoso stopped both shots faced.
 
Iona is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Rider at Mazzella Field at 3 p.m.
