NEW ROCHELLE, NY- The Iona University men's soccer team hosts No. 4 Manhattan on Thursday, November 10 at 1:00 p.m. for the semifinal round of the 2023 MAAC Championship. The Gaels earned the top seed with a 9-1 record in league play to capture MAAC regular season title for the first time since 2009.
Thursday's match will be played at Mazzella Field, where the Gaels are a perfect 5-0 this season. Iona boasts the nations second longest home winning streak at nine games dating back to October 8, 2022. The two rivals will collide in the semifinals for the second straight year, with Iona earning a 1-0 win a season ago in New Rochelle.
This is the third meeting all-time between Iona and Manhattan in the postseason and semifinal round. Iona picked up the win in 2022 and the Jaspers recorded a 1-0 double overtime victory back in 2011. Both teams met in the regular season finale just over a week ago with the Gaels registered the 2-0 win at Gaelic Park.

Camil Azzam Ruiz earning the 2023 MAAC Golden Boot, given to the leagues top offensive player. Junior
Nacho Alfaro Monge was named the 2023 MAAC Golden Glove, for the league's top goalkeeper. Junior
Tim Timchenko was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year and head coach
James Hamilton claimed the 2023 MAAC Coach of the Year honors.
The Jaspers were represented with six All-MAAC selections, headlined by first team honorees, Gunnar Studenhofft and Nassim Akki. Manhattan is coming off a 2-0 victory over No. 6 Niagara in the opening round on Thursday.
