Iona MBB Head Coach Tobin Anderson to Coach NABC-Reese’s Division I All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, MO – Newly-named Iona University men's basketball head coach Tobin Anderson was selected to serve as coach in the upcoming NABC-Reese's Division I College All-Star Game in Houston, Texas, it was announced today by the NABC.  Anderson will coach against Texas A&M's Buzz Williams in the contest.

The All-Star game takes place Friday, March 31, at 4:30 p.m. ET at NRG Stadium in Houston as part of Reese's Final Four Friday. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, and admission to the game and Reese's Final Four Friday is free.

Anderson was named the head coach at Iona this week after leading Fairleigh Dickinson to just the second No. 16 seed-over-No. 1 seed upset in NCAA Tournament history. Anderson's FDU team went 21-16 overall this season, earning the NEC's automatic bid. Before the Knights' upset of Purdue, they defeated Texas Southern in the First Four.

Anderson has also held prior head coaching roles at St. Thomas Aquinas, Hamilton and Clarkson.

Williams has been the head coach at Texas A&M since 2019 and has guided the Aggies to a combined 52 wins over the past two seasons. A&M went 25-10 in 2022-23 - including a 15-3 second-place finish in the SEC regular season standings – and earned a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Before taking the Texas A&M job, Williams led Virginia Tech to three NCAA Tournaments and Marquette to five.
