QUEENS, NY - The Iona University baseball team fell on the road, losing to St. John's 13-3 in their non-conference finale at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
Game Summary
The Red Storm opened the evening scoring five runs in the first and then went in front 8-0, after three more runs came across to score in the second inning. The Gaels got a run back in the third after a single from
Jake Field advanced
Will Jennings to third and during the ensuing at-bat, Jennings came in to score on a passed ball.
Trailing 10-1,
Phoenix Bowman plated two runs for the Gaels on an RBI single through the right side scoring
Nickolas Mora and
Josiah Ragsdale on the play.
Eric Gialloreto came out of the bullpen and worked two efficient innings, only allowing an unearned run while retiring the side in the fourth and working around minimal traffic in the fifth on his way to a scoreless outing.
St. John's added two more runs in the sixth, pushing the advantage to 13-3 and with the Gaels unable to spark a run in the seventh, the Red Storm earned the victory in seven innings.

The Gaels will return to City Park for their final home series of the 2023 season. Iona welcomes in Niagara with game one scheduled for 3:00 PM on Friday, May 12.
