NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Eight members of the Iona University men's outdoor track team earned bids into the NCAA Championships East First Round next week at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.

JADYN TABOIS · 200-METER DASH

5/24 · 8:45 P.M. · FIRST ROUND

5/26 · 7:50 P.M. · QUARTERFINAL ROUND

Junior Jadyn Tabois qualified for the 200-meter dash, via his school record time in the event at the 2023 South Carolina Outdoor Open.  His 20.55 ranks No. 26 in the East entering Wednesday's first round heats.  Should Tabois advance, the quarterfinal round takes place Friday night.  He is the lone representative of the MAAC in the event.  It will be his NCAA Outdoor Championship debut.

DAMIEN DILCHER · 1,500-METER RUN

5/26 · 5:15 P.M. · QUARTERFINAL ROUND

Sophomore Damien Dilcher was one of two Gaels to qualify for the 1,500-meter first round heats.  Dilcher's top time of 3:41.67 came this season at the 2023 Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, California.  He's ranked No. 36 in the East and should he advance, the quarterfinal takes place Friday evening.  Dilcher also qualified for the 1500-meter event in 2022.

MAEL GOUYETTE · 1,500-METER RUN

5/26 · 5:15 P.M. · QUARTERFINAL ROUND

Senior Mael Gouyette looks to continue his collegiate career in the 1,500-meter first round Wednesday. Gouyette ranks No. 39 in the event at North Florida and qualified with his time of 3:42.01, also at the Payton Jordan Invite in California.  He makes his second appearance in the NCAA outdoor event after advancing to the quarterfinal in 2022.

MATT RANKIN · 5,000-METER RUN

5/26 · 8:10 P.M. · SEMIFINAL ROUND

Junior Matt Rankin makes his NCAA Championship debut, qualifying for the 5,000-meter semifinal Friday night.   Rankin is one of three Gaels in the 5k heats and ran an Iona season-best time of 13:48.40 at the Payton Jordan Invitational, which ranks No. 28 among the East field.    The top 24 times advance to the NCAA Championship in Austin, Texas in two weeks.  

JOSHUA DESOUZA · 5,000-METER RUN

5/26 · 8:10 P.M. · SEMIFINAL ROUND

Junior Joshua DeSouza earned a slot in the 5,000-meter East semifinal field with his performance at the 2023 Penn Relays.   DeSouza ran a 13:50.57 which ranks No. 32 among the 48 competitors in the race field.  He will make his third straight appearance in the outdoor 5k semifinals.

GRAHAM BAIRD · 5,000-METER RUN

5/26 · 8:10 P.M. · SEMIFINAL ROUND

Senior Graham Baird will represent the Maroon & Gold at North Florida in the 5,000-meter run.  His time of 13:58.55 in last week's Yale Last Chance Meet earned him the 47th fastest time in the East this season.  It will be his first appearance in the NCAA outdoor meet.

JAMIE DEE · 10,000-METER RUN

5/24 · 9:10 P.M. · SEMIFINAL ROUND

Senior Jamie Dee qualified for the NCAA 10,000-meter run in his final season in Maroon & Gold.   His time of 28:51.68 at the Payton Jordan Invitational ranks No. 18 among the 48-member East semifinal race field.   Dee is the highest seeded Gael of his seven teammates. It will be Dee's first NCAA outdoor 10k appearance and third overall after competing in the 5k in 2019 and 2021.   The top 24 times advance to the NCAA Championship in Austin, Texas in two weeks.    

LACHLAN WELLINGTON · 10,000-METER RUN

5/24 · 9:10 P.M. · SEMIFINAL ROUND

Sophomore Lachlan Wellington earned a slot in the NCAA 10,000-meter semifinal race with his performance last week at the Yale Last Chance Meet.  Wellington ran a 29:22.89 and qualified for the event for the second straight season.
